At Amerige HQ, we’ve hated watching the internet sink deeper into full-blown enshittification. These days, plenty of artists and record labels don’t even bother to maintain a website. We think it’s important to push back against that tide, even if it feels like a lost cause, so we’ve put some elbow grease into building a proper web home for Leslie Keffer.

Check it out here: the site’s packed with photos, videos, and info to dig into, and while it’s still a work in progress, there’s already plenty to explore. Leslie’s been busy lately, releasing a string of fascinating new projects over the past year, and this site brings it all together.

Take a look—we hope it’s the first of many projects like this to come.

Test pressings for the Jessica Rylan & C. Spencer Yeh double LP have arrived, and they’ve been approved! We’re thrilled with John Wiese’s remastering work, and we think you will be too. After years of living with the original tapes, these tracks now sound deeper and bolder than ever on vinyl.

Originally issued on cassette in 2006, this collaboration between Rylan and Yeh has been largely unavailable outside of that format until now. We’re honored to help preserve these hard-to-find recordings and bring them to new ears. The official release is on the way but you can stream the entire album right here, right now.

We’re also preparing detailed liner notes featuring a conversation between Jessica and Spencer, moderated by Keith Fullerton Whitman, reflecting on the scene and the times that gave rise to this album and so much other great noise.

While we primarily think of ourselves as a vinyl reissue label, it’s fun to throw the world a curveball every now and then—keep them guessing. So, we figured we’d set that tone early with two brand-new cassette releases, available now.

First up, we’ve unearthed an unreleased gem from Leslie Keffer’s incredibly prolific mid-2000s period. Originally intended for vinyl release in 2006, the project slipped through the cracks as the artist moved on to new material. Rediscovered and now paired with era-appropriate Paris and Britney-inspired imagery, we think She-Wolf stands out as some of her finest early work.

Secondly, we’re bringing you something brand new—what a concept. A harsh blast of youthful, post-internet energy from Baphomet Sex. We may not have our ear to the ground as much as we’d like these days, but Valkyrie was impossible to miss. Wearing a homemade mask and tearing up local spaces like Coaxial Arts, she throws everything she’s got at you. Total freedom, everything-on-the-table—overwhelming, just like modern life. She’s on the cover, looking ready to rumble. We’re sure this is just the beginning of years of aktion from Valkyrie. Get in on it now.

Both albums are available to stream on Youtube here & here, and available for purchase here.

It’s official: our first batch of releases is out and ready for human consumption. They’ve spent quite a while baking in the Amerige oven, with hand-painted artwork by Catie Tessier across all three and a sharp remastering job by John Wiese. We’re proud of the finished product and can’t wait to see them out in the world.

Punk may be long dead, but nothing kept the spark alive in 2005 quite like Leslie Keffer. One young woman hit the road in George W. Bush’s America, pulling harsh radio signals out of the sky and amplifying them through DIY spaces, house shows, and festivals. We needed a new noise, and Leslie was there to show what was possible. Represents is a chance to catch that magic in a bottle and hear those rooms rattle once again.

Karen Constance and Dylan Nyoukis always give you something to believe in. Veterans of the art-junk noise trenches, they’ve spent years pushing themselves to crack open every tripped-out door. A unit, a family, a duo—split up but still together—this 12-inch reissue of a recent catalog highlight presents a solo side from each artist.

Steven Cano and Valarie Martino are two criminally under-discussed players in the pop-damaged, techno-touched, wildly experimental scene that coalesced around labels like Deathbomb Arc and parties such as the legendary Sean Carnage Monday Nights in the 2000s. Here they present some of their finest work: a reissue of a private cassette from 2011 that, until now, rarely reached beyond their immediate circle of friends. Val, in rare form as Salt Swan, aims squarely at the mutant dance floor, while Cano’s tik///tik carves out a nervous scan through the radio dial, stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere. This is an essential American underground classic just waiting to be discovered.

All three releases are available to purchase here, and ready to stream in full on YouTube.

Things have been busy here at the Amerige Records loading dock. Vinyl has arrived from Cascade, and the jackets have been picked up from the good folks at Stoughton Printing. It’s been great having a local manufacturing partner like Stoughton to collaborate with. We even had the chance to tour their plant and approve a test run of the jackets straight off the line. It reminded us of those cherished trips to Bill Smith Custom Records before they closed their doors.

Folding, packing, and assembly are now underway, with preorders heading to the post office first. Putting out records is so much fun.

Our first three releases are now available for streaming in their shiny, newly remastered forms—right here on our YouTube channel!

Make sure to subscribe because you never know what goodies we’ll be dropping in the years to come. To prove the point, we’ve uploaded an unearthed bootleg-style recording of tik///tik playing live at the abandoned Los Angeles Zoo in 2006. It was a legendary gig he shared with Circuit Wound, Bob Bellerue, Moment Trigger, and many more.

Vinyl is available for pre-order now for all you early birds! The official release date is set for 1-26-24.

Kaboom kabang! Test pressings for our first three releases have landed here in Long Beach from the plant in Oregon. Everything has been approved, and we’re aiming for an early 2024 release for all—a fantastic way to kick off the year!

Starting this Amerige adventure with three projects straight off the wish list feels like a dream come true. Of course, the real-world adventure of figuring out how to Tetris all the new boxes into our one-bedroom apartment is proving just as exciting.

In the face of an increasingly uncaring world, you’ve got to commit to the things you love—and we really do love these albums.
