Steven Cano and Valarie Martino are two criminally under-discussed players in the pop-damaged, techno-touched, wildly experimental scene that coalesced around labels like Deathbomb Arc and parties such as the legendary Sean Carnage Monday Nights in the 2000s. Here they present some of their finest work: a reissue of a private cassette from 2011 that, until now, rarely reached beyond their immediate circle of friends. Val, in rare form as Salt Swan, aims squarely at the mutant dance floor, while Cano’s tik///tik carves out a nervous scan through the radio dial, stuck in a ditch in the middle of nowhere.
